Lailia Forest: Located on Vrontos mountain, near the town of Serres. It is known for its fir trees and ski resort.\nKerkini Forest: It is located around Lake Kerkini and includes rich vegetation with plane trees, willows and oaks.\nMavrothalassa Forest: A mixed forest that stretches across the Menoiki massif.\nThese forests are home to rich flora and fauna, constituting important habitats in the region.<\/p>\n\n

Deer (Cervus elaphus): Common in the forests of Lailia and the Black Sea.\nWild boars (Sus scrofa): They roam throughout the mountainous and forested area.\nWolves (Canis lupus): They live mainly in isolated and mountainous forests.\nFoxes (Vulpes vulpes): Very adaptable, found in all forest areas.\nSquirrels (Sciurus vulgaris): Often on tall tree trunks in the forests of Lailia.<\/p>\n\n

\n Mountains of Serres <\/h3>\n

Mount Beles (Kerkini): Located on the Greek-Bulgarian border. It hosts birds such as the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) and the Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus).\n\nMount Lailias: Near the town of Serres. There live the Serpent Eagle (Circaetus gallicus) and the Little Egret (Ardea cinerea).\n\nMount Menoikio: It is located southeast of the city of Serres and is home to birds such as the Eagle (Aquila pomarina) and the Mallard (Aythya nyroca).\n\nThese mountains offer rich biodiversity and are important habitats for the birds of the region.<\/p>\n\n
